TRANSCRIPTION OF CHANCELLOR STONE’S REMEMBRANCE DAY ADDRESS
September, 15 – Year 170, MU City Capital Building – Leviathan
STONE: My Dearest Atlas, forty-four years ago, today, we witnessed the fall of the TAU. Many of you today, myself included, are old enough to remember that day. Here on Leviathan, I remember being in a meeting with a number of ambassadors from throughout the TAU, and then a light beyond all reason erupting over the sky. And then never fading.
For several months, the focus of all past the Bleed was rescue and relocation. Thirteen stations were lost that day. Millions of lives, critical infrastructure, the seat of the TAU’s government. Gone in an instant. Because of traitors like the Pit. Famine, disease, and fear followed those years after. Those ambassadors on Leviathan would become the beginnings of the Republic of Atlas, our answer to these crimes. To save what remained of humanity, to prevent our own extinction. To honor and avenge the TAU!
And now, Eos, and the rebels on Lafayette threaten even our Republic. They will not stop until they have driven us to ruin. But I promise you, this time next year. Great things will happen, great things will come and we will soon be back on track to make the Age of Scorpius a peaceful Age. At any close.
